Rattsev teamed in that relay with Satori Dobbie (Christchurch, New Zealand) Gabe Laracuente (Gaithersburg, Md.) and Niklas Weigelt (Clayton, Calif.) to win the race in 6:44.84 and shatter the previous record of 6:51.48 set in 1991 by Drexel. In addition, his leg of 1:39.62 in the 800 Free Relay broke the pool record of 1:39.75 for fastest 200 Free previously set in 2006. Rattsev was a member of both the record-setting 400 Medley Relay and the 800 Free Relay. The Retrievers dominated, taking first in 12 of the 14 swimming events, and sweeping both diving events, en route to the 135-129 victory. – Senior Illia Rattsev (Moscow, Russia) was a part of three of the four pool records that fell as the UMBC Men’s Swimming & Diving Team defeated Howard on Saturday afternoon at UMBC Aquatic Complex.
